Christel Mosby

VP of College Relations Committee

Christel Mosby, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Grand Canyon University, joined the university in 2004 and has more than 15 years of experience in higher education. She is responsible for all of GCU’s marketing and public relations initiatives, including new media, partnerships, community relations and traditional marketing. She has helped to transform a near-bankrupt university into a world-class institution that appeals to its students to find their purpose.

Ms. Mosby helped increase enrollment from 1,500 students in 2004 to nearly 40,000 currently, with the greatest growth being realized in online degree programs. Despite uncertain economic conditions and because of this significant growth, the university became the first for-profit Christian college to be traded on the NASDAQ Stock Market (under the symbol LOPE) in November 2008, which also ended the longest IPO drought in the United States since 1975.

Prior to joining GCU, Ms. Mosby spent 10 years at the University of Phoenix in multiple sales, marketing and faculty positions. As Associate Director of Marketing for the online division, she was instrumental in growing enrollment from 25,000 students to more than 200,000 students while directing all web development, creative services, market analysis and corporate messaging for the university.

Ms. Mosby earned a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Arizona University. She has been a board member of the Phoenix Business Marketing Association since 2008 and is currently acting as VP of College Relations. Ms. Mosby and her husband Chris live in Scottsdale, Arizona with their daughters Kate (4) and Emma (1).
