Director of Public Relations

Michelle is the director of corporate communications for Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a Phoenix-based global technology distribution company with fiscal year 2011 revenue of $26.5 billion. Her areas of focus include executive communications, public relations and a variety of corporate communications that help enhance the Avnet brand with customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders. Prior to joining Avnet in 2007, Michelle worked in the enterprise software industry for over 12 years. She spent 10 years at JDA Software (Nasdaq: JDAS) in marketing and communications roles including senior director of global public relations. She is a Journalism graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas (that’s the oldest town in Texas y’all!). Michelle is married to a very patient and kind guy named Steve. Together, they are having a blast raising their twin daughters. The Kershners love their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sir Jonathan, enjoy playing tennis together and generally goofing around.
